Multicolored patterns

OMG, Guess what happened at my house last night? IT SNOWED!!! I woke up this morning with an inch of snow covering my yard and car. I am very excited about snow, it is one of my favorite parts of winter. I dont really like the cold so much, but the snow makes everything look pretty. At least until the snow plows muck it all up. The weather people in Indiana are saying that this could be a record snow year for us, based on historic trends. Now I am not saying I want a blizzard or anything, but a nice continual snow through Christmas would be wonderful.

I am posting these two cards together even though one is christmas and the other is a birthday card. They both are made with the same technique and concept. When I first say the birthday card I thought it was made with printed paper but its NOT!! The pattern come out when you use the different colors using the same stamps. I know this might be old hat for some of you but I was totally blown away. I love how you can take color in the same hughes on opposite sides of the color wheel to make great patterns.
The Card shown below has a birthday seal at the bottom but you could do so much with this idea.

Now this card I love! It uses the same idea but it looks totally different. The snowflakes bring in the texture to the paper and because I am the queen of all things shiny (lol) I added glitter to the differnt snowflakes. I really wish picture could show how spectacular the glitter looks.

Okay, I know I am giving you a lot to look at but I know I have been remiss in my blogging duties. I hope you enjoy them.
