I have posted a similar card earlier in the year, but I took that card concept and turned it into a tag. I am in love with the Love and Laughter stamp set. It is in the top 10 most purchased stamps sets. I used the olive versamagic ink and the kaleidoscope embossing powder to make the tree sparkle. I think it all started in my childhood. Anytime you can combing coloring and melting its a good time. Kind of like melting crayons between wax paper, fun for hours or you run out of crayons. I also like to come up with creative ways to make jewelry. Micheals is like crack for me I not only get sucked in on the scrapbook side of things but the beads and bobbles get me too. I spent some time with my favorite angel and cousin Suzanne and I came up with an idea to use charms and bottle caps as rings and pendants. So I thought "hey' I can make my own charms with stamps and Shrinky dinks". For conference I wanted to bring a special trade because last year I didnt have one and felt left out. This year was my year... no one makes rings. I broke out my Affirmation Badges T-2958, my frosted Shrinky dink plastic and my favorite colored pencils and made 50 charms. I was so excited. I used large jump rings to make the adjustable ring.

I hope you like them as much as I do. This years set was full of great words and two new angles. I was having trouble decided what to do until I came across my stash of Angelee paper. I like the idea of paper piecing and this angels outfit was just asking me to piece her dress together. So I happily stamped about 25 of her out on white card stock and then again on the Angelee patterned paper. Let me tell you it took me and a friend a couple of hours to cut her out, but I think she was worth it. I used colored pencils to color everything but the dress and I used Glaze Gelly Pens to color her Maryjane's. The Glaze pens give them a shiny look with out embossing. Hope you like.

Long time no blog...

I know its been a few months since my last blog. Lucky for me I know a ton of people with kids. So over the next few weeks I will share with you my projects from seminar as well as some new ideas. As a teaser I'll tell you I have a fabulous scrapbook paper that involves a mentos geyser..... I know your excited right. lol

Rustic Ship

As always, it has been a long since my last post. This card was made for a fathers day swap. I found the idea in the Angel catalog. I used the rustic chic paper and the ship stamp. The organza ribbon gave it a little bit of embellishment with out making it sissy. ( I think) Let me know what you think. I am having a hard time staying focused and getting to the internet in order to post. For those of you not going to conference, you will start to see all the cards that I am making. My fantabulous up line sent me a package in this month and issued a challenge. I have a really hard time staying on top of my stamping and blogging, but she loves me a keeps encouraging me. This month in her package she sent a foam coaster (see below). The challenge was to create something from it. She didn't give any rules, she just wanted to see what we could create with it. Well I got so inspired that I cranked out 3.. yes, count them, 3 cards from 1 coaster.

The original coaster.

The original concept was to use the coaster as a resist image by spraying glitter mist through the coaster leaving the scroll design. I like how it came out, but you can tell me what you think. My darn camera made everything blurry so the pic is not that great but you should get the idea.

supplies: Coaster, glitter mist, decorative "stamp" edge scissors, TAC paper and TAC stamp set

My next endeavour came when I had the coaster all glittered up with the mist. I wasn't sure what to do with it, but it still looked good on the other side. I didn't want to waste it and I loved the pattern. So I decided to cut it apart and combine the resist with the actual coaster.

Supplies: Coaster (cut up) and resisted with glitter mist, TAC stamp set and Bazzil cardstock

Finally I bring you to my favorite. The remaining pieces of the coaster after it had been destroyed and artfully put back together. I like this one the best because it looks fresh and clean, but you be the judge.

I hope you all enjoy! I did make valentines for all of my co-workers. This card was made for my friend David. He's a big softy and likes to think he is in charge. He wears his heart on his sleeve so I thought he deserved to be the King of Hearts for the occasion.

I has so much fun making valentine cards that now I have an overflow. I am a rockstar kinda girl and I love this paper. I used paper mache paper to cut out the heart and I used a glossy gold and embossed the edges with gold to make it stand out. The only stamp I used on this card was the XOXO and I have no idea where it came from. It take lots of time and patience. I tend to stamp once a month and make 8-10 projects at a time. I thought that if I uploaded all my images I could just make a blog every week. But.. I don't. This week however, I am proud to upload and share my projects. Things have been a little tense around her, so I blew off stress by buying a ton of paper at my scrapbook store. I was inspired by a last years keepsake magazine. lol I know I didn't even have a chance to go through this months issue.

The sketch is a set up, two pieces of coordinating paper and a side ribbon or piece of cardstock through the middle. I stamped the hearts in coordinating colors and tied a heart charm with a small ribbon. The colors are not as bold online but this was one of my favorites simple but elegant.

Supplies:

Cream cardstock as a base

doublesided paper that I cut and flipped over

Fiore GWP stamp from TAC

heart charm

mauve ribbon

Multicolored patterns

OMG, Guess what happened at my house last night? IT SNOWED!!! I woke up this morning with an inch of snow covering my yard and car. I am very excited about snow, it is one of my favorite parts of winter. I dont really like the cold so much, but the snow makes everything look pretty. At least until the snow plows muck it all up. The weather people in Indiana are saying that this could be a record snow year for us, based on historic trends. Now I am not saying I want a blizzard or anything, but a nice continual snow through Christmas would be wonderful.

I am posting these two cards together even though one is christmas and the other is a birthday card. They both are made with the same technique and concept. When I first say the birthday card I thought it was made with printed paper but its NOT!! The pattern come out when you use the different colors using the same stamps. I know this might be old hat for some of you but I was totally blown away. I love how you can take color in the same hughes on opposite sides of the color wheel to make great patterns.
The Card shown below has a birthday seal at the bottom but you could do so much with this idea.

Now this card I love! It uses the same idea but it looks totally different. The snowflakes bring in the texture to the paper and because I am the queen of all things shiny (lol) I added glitter to the differnt snowflakes. I really wish picture could show how spectacular the glitter looks.

Okay, I know I am giving you a lot to look at but I know I have been remiss in my blogging duties. This Christmas candle card was made at card crop with Monica Fiedler. The first picture shows the entire card so that you can see the finished product. We used versamark to stamp the image creating a background and layered the mattes to give it dimension. We did two different cards using the same technique, the other card had the mattes square with the brads set further out.

The really cool part of this card is how the candle was colored. The picture does not give it justice. The image was stamped on acetate using stazon. Here comes the cool part are you ready for it?? The acetate was run through a sticker machine putting glue all over the back like a sticker!! After we stamped the image on the front we flipped it over and used chalk to color in certain parts of the image. The glue held the chalk and when we mounted it to the green cardstock the image really popped.

I know this image is a little blurred but I thought you'd still be able to see how I colored only parts of the image.
I hope you liked this technique. It took me a while to get over the coolness factor. I made a couple more using different stamps.

I hope you all had a great thanksgiving and I will blog with you soon.

Fall Trees

I know it has been a long time since my last post and I apologise. Unfortunately, I left my camera in Florida. LOL Don't worry I found a way to take pictures with my cell phone and forward them to my email. So this week I have a flying cow for your enjoyment. I learned the coloring technique while in Florida and I wanted to color so bad, that I rummaged through my stamps to find something worth coloring. Wouldn't you know, I found a stamp set that I had never used. I had seen this cow used at conference in cute pastels. As I am not the average gal, I didn't want to cutesy it up I wanted something a bit darker. I mean really, the cow is hanging out on the moon. It should be dark right. Any way, this was my finished project. I didn't get the entire look I wanted but I think I'm getting the hang of it.

I apologise, I know the light is a bit off. My cell phone as a great camera but its flash it outrageous. In the second view you should be able to see my coloring has improved and I even masked the image and sponged in the background, and since I cant seem to make a card with out some glitter I used just a touch of stickles on the hooves. We started off the week with ten projects in mind and we succeeded. In the midst of all the creative flow I learned how to color pretty. Most of my coloring looks good but it never had that professional flair. Well, let me tell you, I have found my flair!! Of course after Suzanne rushed out to get the special pencils and mineral oil we stayed up until 2 am coloring. I am not sure we needed special pencils but it always makes you feel good when you try something new. So this is what happens when you find inspiration and you stay up into the wee hours color with friends.

You can't really tell from the picture, but I cut the witch out and lifted her with a pop dot.

Recipe: Trick or Treater T-2795
Colored pencil with mineral oil blending
Juliette v-839
If you have any comments or questions please let me know, they are always welcome.

This is my very first posting, I am so excited. I am in Florida visiting my cousin and fellow Angel Suzanne. She is hosting an all Christmas crop this week. While down here on vacation as part of my room and board I will be helping her get ready for her crop. So far we are off to the races. We put together 7 make and takes, the goal is to have 10 for the crop. I am so excited for her she is building her business and is hosting a few events each month. I am sure that I will have pictures of all the projects at the crop for you later. Until then I leave you with my sad sad blank page.
